The rumors are over. It is already a fact that center fielder Gorkys Hernández will join Cardenales de Lara for the upcoming 2020-2021 contest of the Venezuelan ball.
The crepusculars confirmed, through social networks, the transaction with Caribes de Anzoátegui, which in return stays with infielder Diego Castillo and right-hander Andrés Machado.
The change of Hernández was rumored since the Caribbean Series, when he reinforced Cardenales de Lara and expressed certain differences with the management of "the tribe." However, it was not until this Saturday that the change was made official.
Hernández, a native of Sucre state, has 10 seasons of experience in Venezuelan baseball, all in the eastern team, where he gained prominence and consolidated himself as one of the best gloves in the league.
In his lifetime on the circuit, he is hitting .279 with 351 hits, including 65 extra-base hits, and 137 RBIs.
It is for the Cardinals a luxury new edition, but for the Caribes it is the second sensitive loss since the completion of the campaign was confirmed. The first was Alexi Amarista who will now wear the uniform of the Tigres de Aragua.
