Venezuelan triple jumper Yulimar Rojas captured a new vote yesterday in the Prensa Latina Sports Survey, thanks to the radio station Radio Llanura de Colón, located in the Cuban province of Matanzas.
This was the seventh vote for the Creole, thus confirming herself as the wide favorite to prevail in the traditional poll of the Caribbean region to define the Best Female Athlete of the Year.

Rojas has all the merits to keep the award after the huge season in which he won the titles in the Outdoor Athletics World Cup in Eugene, United States, and in the Belgrade Indoor World Cup.
In this last competition, Yulimar set a world record, after reaching 15.74 meters, thus pulverizing the previous level, 15.67, which had also been in his possession since the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (2021).
Although the two World Cup events are mainly taken as a reference, let's remember that the queen of the triple jump also won the Diamond League this year.
The 2022 edition of the Prensa Latina Sports Survey was launched last Monday and so far votes have been received from 5 Latin American countries.
The reception of votes will be open until December 22 and a day later the results will be announced.
