San Diego Padres prospect Ethan Salas has yet to play his first professional game in the United States. However, it won't be long before that happens and it's all thanks to his tremendous receiving skills.
The 16-year-old boy is well regarded in the Californian organization, to the point that within the Padres they are considering the possibility of keeping him on American soil and thus begin the 2023 season in the Arizona League, where he will have to face to players up to three years older than him.

Being assigned to the Dominican Summer League is a possibility. But the Padres want to have him around to monitor his evolution as a player.
They predict that in two to three years he can make his debut in the Majors and be one of the elite catchers in MLB.
