Cumanés right-hander Eduardo Salazar became the second Venezuelan debutant in the Major Leagues during the 2023 campaign on Wednesday.

Salazar was called up by Cincinnati, after Zulian reliever Silvino Bracho was assigned to assignment, and was called to relieve the ninth inning of the game that the Reds beat the St. Louis Cardinals 10-3 at Great American Ball Park.

In one inning, he allowed two unstoppables, they scored a run on him, he gave away a ticket and struck out.

Before Salazar, 20 years old, who belongs to Caribes de Anzoátegui in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, shortstop Brayan Rocchio debuted in the middle of this month with Cleveland Guardians. The man from Sucre started the campaign in AA and had pitched three times in AAA.
