Venezuela got its 46th gold medal at the Bolivarian Games of Valledupar 2022, it arrived this Monday from the hand of the men's team of basketball 3×3.
Ernesto “Pepeto” Hernández, José Bracho, Luis “Tapipa” Duarte and “Pac-Man” Nelson Palacios reigned in the Garupal Sports Park.
The silver medalists of the Junior Pan American Games in Cali 2021, also conquered Valledupar by beating Ecuador in the Grand Final 19-17.

In Over Time, "Pac-Man" scored the two points that sentenced the game and gave the gold to the national team.
"Tapipa" Duarte, meanwhile, finished as the game's top scorer with 11 baskets.
the road to gold
In the all against all, the national team won five of the six games they played in coffee lands. They fell in their debut 21-17 against Chile and from then on they consecutively defeated:
- Bolivia (22-6)
- Dominican Republic (18-17)
- Ecuador (16-9)
- Colombia (21-12)
- And Guatemala (21-16)
Already in the semi-finals they took away the thorn in their debut and left Chile out of the game with a final score of 13-09. They entered their name in the Grand Final against Ecuador and put the finishing touch to their participation.
The 3×3 of Venezuela ends its participation in the Bolivarianos with gold in the men's and bronze in the women's.
