Genesis Rodríguez won a pair of golds in Valledupar

The Venezuelan became champion in the category up to 55 kg of Weightlifting

Sport rewards resilience and in life itself only the one who persists triumphs. Genesis Rodríguez is a clear example of this. The Venezuelan shone again this Saturday and became champion in the Bolivarian Games of Valledupara 2022.

In Weightlifting, In the category up to 55 kg, Génesis Rodríguez dominated the snatch and clean and jerk to score a double gold conquest.

The Creole lifted 87 kg in the snatch to beat the Ecuadorian Jennifer Hernández (84 kg) and the Peruvian Shoely Mego (81 kg), who were silver and bronze, respectively.

Later, in the clean and jerk, the woman from Carabobo prevailed with a record of 108 kg to lead the podium, which was again completed by Ecuador and Peru.

Genesis Rodríguez then emulated the resounding success of his compatriots Julio Mayora (73 kg) and Katherine Echandia (49 kg) in the fair.

And he also gets gold medals 26 and 27 for Venezuela.

In two days of competition, the Weightlifting added a total of 13 medals for the country: six golds, three silvers and four bronzes.
