Coco Gauff eliminated Naomi Osaka in the San José tournament with a final score of 6-4 and advances in the California tournament.
The local and sixth seed, held all her serves in the first set and finished the 45-minute duel with three aces.

Osaka, meanwhile, committed the first double fault of the match, early in the second set, and Gauff took advantage to take a 2-1 lead.
Gauff balanced her record with Osaka at 2-2. This Friday she will face the Spanish Paula Badosa (2nd seed).
