Osaka fell in the second round of the Madrid tournament

Japan's Naomi Osaka, world number two, was eliminated this Sunday in the second round of the Madrid Tournament against Czech Karolina Muchova 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.

Muchova, semifinalist at the last Australian Open, took the first set after a break in the Japanese service.

Osaka was 3-1 down in the second set, but reacted to win five straight games and force the third set, in which the more aggressive Muchova prevailed 6-1.

Muchova will face in the next round the Greek Maria Sakkari, 16th seed and executioner this Sunday of the Estonian Anett Kontaveit 6-3, 6-1.

On the other hand, Simona Halep, another of the great favorites, continues with a firm step after beating the Chinese Saisai Zheng 6-0, 6-4.
