Roger Gutiérrez from Zulia will go for his second defense of the World Boxing Association (WBA) super featherweight title, when he faces American Chris Colbert on February 26.
This skirmish will be the main event in a "Showtime Championship Boxing" event, which has not yet defined a place.
Gutiérrez has a 26-3-1 record, 20 wins on the fast track. He secured the WBA belt after beating Nicaraguan René Alvarado by unanimous decision early last year in Dallas.
Then he made his first defense against the same rival in August 2021, keeping the trilogy of both fighters. He reigned again for DU, in that hit, again on a billboard made in Texas.

On the opposite sidewalk, Colbert (16-0, 6 KOs) held the WBA 130-pound interim belt until that organization applied a heavy hand to that interim championship after the great controversy of the fight between Gabriel Maestre and Mikal Fox.
The 25-year-old American striker beat Mongol Tugstsogt Nyambayar in his most recent unanimous decision match in July last year.
Without a doubt, it will be a high-caliber fight for Gutiérrez who seeks to continue reigning in his category and if he wins this fight, he could handle a possible unification crossover with the WBO monarch, Shakur Stevenson.
It is estimated that by the end of the week the arena where this card and the rest of the fights will take place will be known.
