Orluis Aular won the bronze medal in the Pan-American road race. That takes place in San Juan, Argentina.
The man born in Nirgua and a member of Caja Rural de España ran the individual time trial (elite category).
Aular set a time of 58 minutes and 13 seconds on the 46.6-kilometer route between Ullum and the Punta Negra Dam.
The Venezuelan lost only 49 seconds against the Colombian Rodrigo Contreras, who was crowned champion with a record of 57:33. Also Colombian Walter Vargas was second with a time of 57:58.
Aular will have a couple of days off before completing his second foray into the San Juan Pan American.
The next test for the Venezuelan will be on the road, next Sunday, as the spearhead of a Venezuelan team in which Leángel Linárez also appears, another Venezuelan who lives in European cycling, as part of the Mortagua de Portugal.
With two riders who are doing well in the sprint, the Venezuelan delegation will try to resolve everything through a block arrival to expand their options to get on the podium.
