Venezuelan surfer Rossany Álvarez managed to occupy a position on the podium of the I Central American and Caribbean Sea and Beach Games, specifically competing on the short board.
The Venezuelan flag-bearer ranked third, after obtaining a rating of 8.47, which accredited her to take the bronze.
After the award ceremony, the native athlete declared that she was happy and doing the best possible job representing the tricolor.

"The important thing about all this work is to bring a medal to the country, the truth is that it could have been the gold one," he explained.
“I was waiting for a better wave that would take me to first place but I think many minutes passed and I was patient, the truth is that this sport is too lucky, but what was possible was done”, concluded the athlete.
