Keydomar Vallenilla won gold and silver in Valledupar

The golden conquest of Keydomar is the ninth that adds the Weightlifting in Valledupar

The Olympic Weightlifting runner-up, Keydomar Vallenilla, added gold and silver this Monday at the 2022 Valledupar Bolivarian Games.

The 22-year-old from Mirandino finished second in the category boot up to 96kg lifting 167 kilos, three less than the local Jhor Moreno (gold)

The Peruvian Amel Atencia escorted Keydomar and completed the podium after registering 140 kg.

But the story was different. in the jerk. The Olympian took the caste and, with a lift of 210 kg, he imposed himself with authority to climb to the top of the podium.

Moreno, who lifted 202 kilograms, had to settle for silver and Atencia (182 kg) repeated the bronze.

“These are my first medals in the Bolivarian Games. A little dissatisfied at the start. I had been working on for more, but I was able to respond in the clean and jerk. The goal is Paris 2024″, Keydomar recalled in statements shared by the COV.

"I'm leaving with the positive and working on what could not be done today," he added.

The golden conquest of Keydomar is the ninth that adds the Weightlifting in Valledupar. The harvest began with the double of Katherine Echandia (49 kg) and continued with:

  • Julio Mayora double (73 kg)
  • Genesis Rodríguez double (55 kg)
  • Double by Darvin Castro (81 kg)

Silver and bronze for Pedro Díaz

In the category up to 102kg Venezuela also managed to get on the podium with Pedro Díaz.

The 21-year-old Venezuelan added bronze in the start with a lift of 153 kg, which was surpassed by the representatives of:

  • Ecuador, Wilmer Contreras (154 kg)
  • And Colombia, Yeimar Mendoza (162 kg)

However, the Venezuelan made the adjustments and added silver in the clean and jerk with 196 kg, one less than Mendoza, who managed to repeat the gold.

Contreras then had to settle for bronze by lifting just 188 kg.
