Golfers ready to play the Barquisimeto Open

The most outstanding golfers of Venezuela will be gathered in the contest

With the inauguration of the art exhibition and exhibition of trophies Between art and golf, begins XVII Barquisimeto Golf Open, the most traditional in Venezuela.

Already the 170 participating golfers are ready to tee off this Thursday. The president of the Barquisimeto Golf Club, José Aponte, informed that from 6:20 in the morning, the departure of the players begins, headed by the category of professionals and championship, followed by those of first, second and third.

This first day, the Barquisimeto course will see 134 golfers play, who will come out in two groups: one from the tee off hole 1, the other from hole 10. There will be a game in the morning and in the afternoon.

During the press conference, the president of the Golf Committee, Raúl Acevedo, added that this is a competition that is played over 54 holes for gentlemen and 36 for ladies, who on this occasion also broke a participation record, with 28 registered. .

For his part, Raúl Álvarez, president of Tubrica, the main sponsor of this activity, invited the community to attend the club.

“It doesn't matter if you're a member, everyone can enjoy this event, which isn't just golf. We are also going to have musical and cultural evenings with artists from the region, as well as a varied Larense gastronomic proposal”.

Golfers of the stature of the experienced Juan Carlos Verastegui, Víctor Alarcón and Amauriel
Fernández, as well as Jesús Hernández, David Aguilar and Arturo Cupido, from Lara, have already given their last practice shots to get ready for the first day of the tournament.

Between art and golf

The Barquisimeto Open is not just golf. This sporting event becomes a cultural manifestation of Lara, with the collective art exhibition and exhibition of trophies Between art and golf, made up of 33 creators from the region, who intervened in a three-dimensional oval-shaped structure inspired by the Buche, a cactus typical of the xerophytic climate of Lara.

This Wednesday the exhibition was inaugurated, which will last for a month, with the imposition of buttons, toasts and a concert by the Mavare Orchestra, dedicated to plastic artists.

On the other hand, the club's board invited the public to follow the details of the open through the YouTube Social Stream channel, and the Instagram account @barquisimetogolfclub.
