The current Pan American champion Elvismar Rodríguez won the silver medal at the Portuguese Grand Prix this Saturday.
The judoka finished second in the -70 kg category, after falling almost six minutes from the Golden Score. Australia's Aoife Coughland eventually prevailed by ippon to claim the gold medal.
According to the Venezuelan Olympic Committee, Elvismar Rodríguez adds his tenth Grand Prix medal, the third silver.
Ida Eriksson, from Sweden, completed the podium.

Elvismar Rodríguez entered the final after beating Heeju Han from South Korea by ippon, after three minutes and eight seconds of combat.
Before, she beat Nataliia Chystiakova from Ukraine by ippon, in less than a minute.
