Yulimar; who also won the victory at the stop in Zurich (Switzerland) after jumping more than 15 meters, started the competition slowly, having no valid jumps in his first two attempts. Thus Jamaican Shanieka Ricketts joined 14.69 and 14.79 meters to become líder of the competition on North American lands.

Subsequently, the Creole rose 14.53m on her third jump. She was barely enough to place herself in third place, behind the other Jamaican, Kimberly Williams; that she had 14.61 in her attempt. The Venezuelan's fourth jump was invalidated and only a prelude to her elevation of more than 15 meters, enough to win the third Diamond of her award-winning career.

Shanieka Ricketts escorted the Creole. Her best jump was 15.03m and the third step on the podium went to Kimberly Williams (14.61m). For her part, that jump of 15.35 becomes the best mark of the Meeting and of the year.
