The Venezuelan triple jumper, Yulimar Rojas, managed to make history by receiving the Best Athlete of the Community trophy for the second time Iberoamerican.
The award was presented to him by King Felipe VI of Spain and his wife Leticia; With this announcement, she thus became the first woman in the history of the country to receive this distinction twice.
“I didn't expect to win this award. They hadn't told me anything. It was a surprise. I am the first woman to win the award twice. She makes me feel proud of the work we have been doing for years and above all of being here with so many sports personalities, ”she told EFE.
The information was released by Team Rojas through their social networks, where they shared images of the ceremony that was part of the delivery of the national sports awards.
“For the second time, we received the Best Athlete of the Ibero-American Community Trophy. Today I was decorated with the award that is part of the National Sports Awards and that is granted by the Kings, D. Felipe Vi and Dª. Letizia,” she said in her post.

Rojas, 27, emphasized that she is focused on winning gold in the World Cup in Budapest (Hungary) because it is the step prior to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
“It is what makes me lose sleep. Budapest is the most important event of the year that will continue to keep me focused on what the Games are going to be. Everything I do this year is going to influence the next one and I think that's what we have in mind,” she added.
