Sportingly speaking, 2023 has started on the right foot for the Venezuelan Yorgelis Salazar, who this Friday signed up for the Karate 1-Premier League final held in Cairo, Egypt.
The Creole defeated the Ukrainian Kryva Kateryna in the semifinals 0-1, this fight gave Salazar a pass to the last chapter of the competition and of course the athlete is already thinking about defending the gold.
2022 was a year of great challenges, most of which were conquered, marking last season as the best for the athlete so far. The interests of the 25-year-old karateka lie in surpassing her actions from the previous year.

That is why, this Sunday, she will go out in style to defeat the hostess Salama Reem Ahmend in the final in the kumite -50 kg category. If she achieves what she plans, she will return to hang the first place medal for the second year in a row.
In the last edition of the international tournament, Salazar surprised by defeating one of the great sports figures such as the Turkish Serap Ozcelik Arapoglu by “Ippon”.
“We are in the final of the Premier League in Cairo, I hope to have your support on Sunday for the final. Thanks to everyone who followed us in all the rounds, I hope to take the medal home," Salazar told the press department of the Venezuelan Karate Federation (FVK).
