Max Verstappen believes that his debut will be different from that of Mick Schumacher this year. The Red Bull guy has been with Mick a lifetime, as the two met when they started racing karting.
Mick Schumacher will land in Formula 1 this season, in the hands of the Haas team, with the media coverage that this entails. The son of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher reaches the premier class and it seems that comparisons with his father will be inevitable. However, he has already recognized in the past that his surname does not weigh on him and that, on the contrary, comparisons are one more motivation.
Max Verstappen, whose father was also a Formula 1 driver - Jos Verstappen - believes that the pressure he felt will be different from what Mick will have. He believes that he will not go unnoticed, as the press has been watching him since he began.
“It's different for Mick than it was for me. His father holds the world championship record, even in the days of karting he had the media around. In Formula 4, Formula 3 and now; the hype that has been given has been increasing ”, explained Max Verstappen in an interview with the web portal f1-insider.com.
However, Verstappen is calm as he knows that the people closest to the young German driver have taken very good care of him thus far.
"He has a good environment near him, good people who take care of him and are doing very well," said the Red Bull driver.
