Venezuelan golf champion South American prejuvenil

Venezuelan golf showed that it has a valid generation of relief after winning the team title and also in the individual men's line, in addition to finishing in second place in pairs during the recently completed South American Youth Championship that took place on the field from La Paz Golf Club, in Bolivia.

The competition included the best players in the region, under the age of 15, who performed on the Paz Golf Club course, considered the highest on the planet, located at a height of 3.342 meters above sea level, and who received representatives from The 10 countries of South America between September 18 and 21, Venezuela led a team made up of gentlemen by Virgilio Paz, Diego Neira and Samuel Rached. In ladies the set had the presence of Ana V Soto, Ariana Carvalho and Ivanna Flores. The Venezuelan team came back from the second round beginning the fourth and last day of competition in the second place that they overcame to culminate in the vanguard position and thus take over the title by defeating Chile by 7 strokes.

Virgilio Paz individual championIn individual, Virgilio Paz who at the beginning of the competition was in third place in the table came back in the third round with a spectacular day of 65 strokes (-6) that placed him in the first box with two advantage on the Chilean Simón Roessler, facing the last day when the Venezuelan successfully circumvented the difficulties of the field and became the champion. Virgilio closed the tournament with 286 hits after rounds of 75, 75, 65 and 71, a 10-shot wide lead over Chile's Lukas Roessler.

This is the second victory for gentlemen from Venezuela in a South American. The first was in Paraguay in 2011 with Gustavo Morantes, Manuel Torres and Jorge García. In ladies, Venezuela ranked ninth, while in the tag team competition Venezuela was runner-up with Virgilio Paz and Ariana Carvalho.
