Veteran defender Dani Alves, who will be one of the reinforcements of the Brazilian team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, assured this Wednesday that it is like "Benjamin Button, I'm going from more to less" ensuring that he maintains "a young spirit."
“I am like Benjamin Button, I go from more to less. Being here is something very special for me, ”Alves, 38, said at a press conference.
The former Barcelona defender was thus identified with the film "The Strange Case of Benjamin Button", in which his protagonist, played by Brad Pitt, is born old and grows younger over the years.
“I am grateful for the trust and for the work throughout my career. I have a very young spirit ”, assured Alves, who will try to help his team to defend the Olympic gold achieved five years ago in Rio-2016.
“Regardless of one's story, the first time is always something special. The vast majority of us have equal experience, because we never participate in an event as big, as gigantic as this one, ”said Alves, who is one of the three reinforcements over 24 years allowed, along with goalkeeper Santos and Diego Carlos.
"As much as you have experienced great and special things, the first time, you always feel butterflies in your stomach, a good, healthy nervousness," said Alves.
"I hope to be at the height not only of the competition, but also of my selection," he concluded.
