The highest governing body of sport chose Brisbane, Australia, as the new home of the greatest festival in world sport.

“The vision and plan for the Brisbane 2032 Games fit into long-term regional and national strategies for social and economic development in Queensland and Australia. They complement the goals of the Olympic Movement outlined in the 2020 and 2020 + 5 Olympic Agenda, ”commented IOC President Thomas Bach.

Brisbane is the first site chosen under the IOC's new model of flexibility and utilization of existing and temporary facilities. This is to align with the long-term local development of the nations hosting the games.
