Mariana Rojas hung the silver in Valledupar

Betsabeth Arguello also climbed to the podium in the 53 kg category

A few hours before the end of the XIX Bolivarian Games of Valledupar 2022, the Venezuelan delegation strives to get its last metals to start the Olympic cycle towards Paris 2024 on the right foot.

On this occasion, Mariana Rojas lost 12-1 in the Women's Wrestling final in the 50 kg category against her opponent from Ecuador, Jacqueline Mollocana.

In this way Rojas is in second place on the podium while Ecuador adds new gold to the medal table and add 29 gold medals for the current edition of the Games.

On the other hand, Betsabeth Arguello also lost in a decisive stage against Lucia Yépez (Ecuador) for the 53 Kg category. On this occasion, Venezuela did not register any points in favor in the 0-10 market.

Unfortunately, Ecuador was left with another gold at the head of a Creole in Women's Wrestling.

Hours before the final, Arguello had managed to beat Nathaly Herrera (Peru) with a 4-10 finish to occupy a place in the semifinal where she faced Colombian Sandy Parra with a convincing 10-0 result.

Venezuela treasures a total of 167 medals in the Bolivarian Games, which are divided as follows:

  • Gold: 45
  • Silver: 54
  • Bronze: 68
