The silver medalist of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in freestyle BMX, Daniel Dhers, held an exhibition for the first time on Saturday in the populous area of Petare of the Sucre Municipality, when in front of the El Carmen church in the Unión sector, he appeared before more than 400 souls.
Of those present, 187 belong to the 14 houses of directed tasks of the "Downloading future" program, distributed in this area. Many “riders” also observed the teachings and tricks that Dhers offered to improve their performance in this difficult sport.
“It is about showing the positive. The good is always going to outweigh the bad, ”said the 36-year-old.
Dhers had been wanting to perform in Petare for a long time and his dream came true. He raised the need for the Sucre Municipality to have a BMX track in the not too distant future, for which he would have the support of the National Government. It should be remembered that there are already tracks for the practice of this sport in the parishes of El Paraíso and Chacao.
The activity complied with all biosafety measures and was blessed by Father Santos, pastor of the El Carmen church. The event counted on the effective organization of the Download Zone, the pro-sport conglomerate Pasión Petare and the communal councils of El Carmen.
Dhers will leave for the United States this week to fulfill sporting commitments, but he is scheduled to return in December for other exhibitions in Caracas and, perhaps, in other cities in the country.
Daniel Dhers has captivated a unique number of followers in his previous presentations. The Tokyo 2020 Olympic runner-up called for many more people to join the practice of BMX freestyle cycling.
