Alberto Dainese won stage 17 of the Giro

The Italian beat his compatriot Jonathan Milan in a close final that required a “Photo Finish”

This Wednesday stage 17 of the traditional Giro d'Italia took place, which was taken by the home cyclist, Alberto Dainese (Team DSM) in a spectacular sprint.

The Italian prevailed in a calm but tight day that needed "Photo Finish" to know the winner.

The Italian beat his compatriot Jonathan Milán (Bahrain Victorious) and the Australian Michael Matthews (Team Jayco AlUla) in a close definition.

The escape of the day was courtesy of the Spanish Diego Pablo Sevilla (Eolo-Kometa), the British Charlie Quatterman (Team Corratec – Selle Italia), the French Thomas Champion (Cofidis) and the Belgian Senne Leysen (Alpecin-Deceuninck).

But towards the end they were all neutralized by the peloton as expected.

The general classification remains with the British Geraint Thomas, who retains the pink jersey of líder.
