Calvert-Lewin injury opens doors for Rondón

This will be the gladiator's second campaign with the Everton team

Salomón Rondón will be able to take over the starting role in Everton's forward for the next two months, after the injury of English striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin was confirmed.

The team's coach, Frank Lampard, reported that he will be out for six weeks after injuring his knee in training a few days ago.

However, the coach himself has shown the confidence he has in the Venezuelan, and in his abilities to provide danger in the Toffees' attack.

“It's sharp in every session. He is an ideal member for the team because of his attitude. He gives us something different. He is a different style of attacker for us, with a very good physical presence in the box. That's why I'm happy with him," said the coach.

In pre-season he provided an assist in a 2-4 win over Blackpool, and saw minutes in every game.

Despite this, Rondón must serve his third and final game ban, after being sent off against Brentford in May, for which he will miss the first game this Saturday at 12:30 pm against Chelsea at the Goodison Park.
