Switzerland wins by the minimum against Cameroon

Those led by Murat Yakin took an important victory in their first meeting in the World Cup

Switzerland and Cameroon met at the Qatar 2022 Soccer World Cup. With a victory for the Swiss team 1-0 against the Africans, with a goal by Breel Embolo.

In the actions of the first half, the Swiss jumped onto the field of Al Janoub Stadium. In a first part where Cameroon was much superior.

But the Swiss team solved their bad start to the game where they were widely outclassed by Cameroon.

Switzerland sought to generate ball control in the first minutes of the match. He managed to advance lines.

Moving the ball into enemy territory, although without any arrival that would worry André Onana too much.

Said inertia, Cameroon shook her at once, and at 10 she had her first danger shot. Karl Toko Ekambi managed to penetrate the area and take a shot, which the goalkeeper Yann Sommer managed to deflect. The rebound was left to Bryan Mbeumo, but his shot would go high.

From then on, the 'Indomitable Lions' took control of the ball and were a little more decisive in the last line.

Proof of this was Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting's shot, which was miraculously deflected by Sommer.

Later, Martin Hongla would appear with a right-footed shot, which made Sommer see his luck, who badly rejected the shipment.

The ball ended up being pushed away by the defense, and the Swiss goalkeeper took a breather.

Despite the sensations that Cameroon left of being better in the first half, it ended after a deflected header from Manuel Akanji.

Same as it was in the area with power that would have given Switzerland the advantage before halftime.

Second time

In the second half, the actions continued without generating many dangerous situations for any of the teams.

It would be in fraction 48 when Breel Embolo placed the European team up and opened the scoring.

With a combined action that left a cross behind Shaqiri, and the Cameroonian would not forgive.

The Swiss, motivated after the goal, were looking for the sentence against a Cameroon that was trying to equalize with flashes.

Already in the last bars of the match, it was the Swiss national team that was closest to the opposing goal.

The Africans were saved in one of the last plays of the game, after a Swiss recovery in the opposite field that Seferovic failed to convert into a goal.

Switzerland would thus take three very important points of the day in Qatar.
