Brazil will defend its Olympic gold in Tokyo 2020

Brazil will defend its Olympic gold in Tokyo-2020 after obtaining this Sunday the last place in the region by beating Argentina 3-0 in the closing of the South American U-23 Pre-Olympic that was played in Colombia.

Brazilians and Argentines will be the representatives of South America in international fair.

André Jardine's Canarinha took away the undefeated and the six-game winning streak from the Albiceleste, who classified and were crowned champion for the fifth time of the contest since the previous day, on the Alfonso López stadium field in Bucaramanga (northeast).

Paulinho, in the 12th minute, and Matheus Cunha, in the 29th and 54th, sealed the Brazilians' pass to the Tokyo Olympics, where they will seek to revalidate the gold medal they won four years ago in Rio.

With the double, the brand new signing of Hertha from Berlin was crowned the top scorer in the competition with five goals.

The comfortable victory of the verdeamarela left Uruguay with no chances of attending the tournament, despite having defeated Colombia 3-1 in the opening game of the last day of the final home run.

Brazil, unbeatable during the tournament with five wins and two draws, had no major problems beating the champions, who lined up without four of their starters.

With the ratification of the pass, Brazil confirms its thirteenth participation in the Olympics, where it has won one gold, three silver and two bronzes. Argentina, for its part, will compete for the ninth time in search of its third gold medal.
