Metropolitanos FC celebrated ten years with a new pitch

The club celebrated a decade of existence in the midst of its best sporting moment

Metropolitanos FC celebrated ten years of history and celebrated with the reopening of the Santa María University soccer field in the La Florencia sector of Caracas.

The event was attended by the club's president, Juan Carlos Ferro, the technical director of the first team, José María Morr, the president of the Futve League, Akram Almatni, and players from the first team and the lower divisions.

The purple team is currently going through its best moment in the ten years it has been founded, they lead the Futve League in 22 games with 41 points, two more than their closest rival, Zamora.

The first season of the capital team was in 2012-2013 in the silver category of national soccer. After having bought the quota of the old Lara FC, champion of the First Division in 1965.

After two seasons in the second division, they would achieve the long-awaited promotion to the first division after becoming champions in the 2014-2015 season.

The capital team has participated in the last two editions of the Conmebol South American Cup, in 2021 and 2022, after finishing seventh in the 2020 season of the Futve League and winning the final hexagonal B last season.
