The Conmebol Disciplinary Commission sanctioned Carabobo FC with a heavy fine due to the racial insults committed by the fans in the match against Atlético Mineiro.
The act occurred on February 22 at the Olympic stadium in Caracas, where the fans verbally attacked the Brazilian players. Match corresponding to the Copa Libertadores 2023.
Conmebol explained that the fine reaches the sum of 100 thousand dollars after violating Article 15.2 of the Disciplinary Code of the organization.

"The amount of this fine will be automatically debited from the amount to be received by the Conmebol Club in concept of Television or Sponsorship rights," detailed the governing body of South American football.
The event occurred when a small group of fans of the Venezuelan team offended the Brazilian players with words of hate and racism.
