The world champion Argentina thrashed Curacao 7-0 in a friendly match played this Thursday at the Madre de Ciudades stadium, in the city of Santiago del Estero.
Lionel Messi took advantage of the appointment to make history. The star scored a hat trick (20, 33, 37) to reach 102 goals with the national team and thus become the first Argentine to score 100 or more goals.
Messi, who made his debut with the albiceleste in 2005, already held the record as Argentina's top scorer, well ahead of his pursuers Gabriel Batistuta (54 goals) and Sergio 'Kun' Agüero (42).
But surpassing the hundred goals is a feat that could not fail to achieve.

Nicolás González (23), Enzo Fernández (34), Ángel Di María (78, penalty) and Gonzalo Montiel (86) completed the rout. 42.000 fans were part of the show.
The world champion showed enormous superiority over the weak Antillean team, whose resistance was demolished in 20 minutes.
