Boca Juniors thrashed the Independiente de Medellín in Libertadores

Three days after becoming champion of the Argentine league, Boca Juniors continued to celebrate on Tuesday with a 3-0 win over Independiente Medellín in the Copa Libertadores.

Eduardo Salvio scored twice and Emmanuel Reynoso did the same at La Bombonera stadium, for Miguel Ángel Russo's team to obtain its first victory in the contest and accumulate a harvest of four units in group H.

While the visit squandered a couple of promising counterattacks, taking advantage of a certain hangover in Boca after snatching the local title from his classic rival River Plate on Saturday in the last date, Colombian side Frank Fabra sent the precise center for Salvio's scoring header to the 35 minutes.

Minutes later, the Boquense captain Carlos Tevez got away from the red card after hitting Jesús Murillo in the face. The "Apache" was reprimanded.

Boca's second was conceived with an overflow from Colombian Sebastián Villa on the left, which Salvio sent to the net with a left-footed shot on the run at 57.

Reynoso extended to 72 from a free kick.

Libertad of Paraguay leads the zone with six points after their second victory in the tournament, 3-2 against Caracas of Venezuela in Asunción.
