Premier League will meet to find solutions

The Premier League will meet this Friday to continue in the search for solutions and find dates that make it possible to end the season, currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The objective is to get a few days and a way to complete the eight days that remain before June 30, when the end of the contracts of several players in the league is established, and that does not imply ending the campaign and declaring it void .

According to Sky Sports, there are several clubs that are not willing to extend the course beyond June 30 so as not to have to face the legal problems that the termination of these contracts would entail.

Players like Chelsea's Willian and Pedro Rodríguez, Tottenham Hotspur's Jan Vertonghen, Liverpool's Adam Lallana and Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser are among the footballers who end their contracts at the end of June.

The Premier League is currently suspended without a specific date for its return, after April 30, the date initially proposed for the return, was postponed as unfeasible.

The way in which the English championship would return is unknown, although the most viable option is to try to resume football behind closed doors and in mid-June. The return of football will be conditional on the British Government giving the green light to it.
