Liverpool comes back and remains undefeated

They added their fourth consecutive victory after drawing on the first day of the Premier

Liverpool scored two late goals this Saturday to come back and beat Wolverhampton 3-1 and remain undefeated after the first five rounds of the Premier League.

Down 1-0 at half-time thanks to a goal from Hwang Hee-Chan at Molineux, the Merseyside team began the comeback with goals from Cody Gakpo and Andy Robertson before Hugo Bueno's own goal in added time.

This was Liverpool's fourth straight win after drawing with Chelsea in the first game of the campaign. It has been an impressive start to the season for Jürgen Klopp's club, which failed to qualify for the Champions League last season for the first time since 2016.

But the meeting did not start as expected. Hwang opened the scoring in the seventh minute so that the home side went into halftime ahead.

Gakpo tied it 10 minutes later for his first goal of the season.

Robertson gave Liverpool the lead in the 85th minute and Bueno's own goal ended Wolverhampton's hopes of a comeback in the 91st minute.

For the rest of the day:

  • Fulham 1-0 Luton
  • Manchester City 3-1 West Ham
  • Brighton 3-1 Manchester United
  • Tottenham 2-1 Sheffield
