Haaland scored a hat-trick in City's win

The Norwegian attacker remains the líder offensive of the English

Erling Haaland with a hat-trick and Julián Álvarez with a double were the stars on Saturday as Manchester City overwhelmed second-division Burnley 6-0 in their FA Cup quarter-final match.

It will be the fifth consecutive semi-final for Manchester City in the FA Cup, where they are aiming for a seventh title. But above all it is confirmation that Josep Guardiola's team, in general, and Haaland, in particular, are in a spectacular moment.

Haaland ends the week with eight goals in two games, after his five goals in Tuesday's 7-0 win against RB Leipzig, which qualified the reigning Premier League holders for the Champions League quarterfinals.

The Norwegian gunner was once again the líder of his team and his were the first three goals for City (minutes 32, 35 and 59).

In the first of them, Haaland had an assist from the Argentine world champion Julián Álvarez, who scored two goals later (62 and 73), in both assisted by the Belgian Kevin De Bruyne.

In his second goal, Haaland won a one-on-one against goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell, unable to stop the tsunami.

The other goal for the sky blue team was in minute 68 and was scored by Cole Palmer.

City thus had a pleasant afternoon in front of their fans at the Etihad Stadium and on Sunday they will be able to see the outcome of the rest of the qualifiers to meet their potential rivals in the semifinals, a round in which they have fallen in the previous three seasons.
