Granada back to Second Division

The Nasrid club will return to the silver category for the first time since 2019

Granada could not win and were relegated to the second division of La Liga. The Nasrid club could not get past the draw against Spanyol and lost the category as a result of the triumphs of Mallorca and Cádiz.

Those led by Aitor Karanka only depended on themselves to achieve their permanence, but they could not withstand the pressure of the game.

Jorge Molina failed from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute, sentencing the fate of his team. Mallorca and Cádiz finished with 39 points, one more than Granada.

The club will return to the silver category of Spanish football for the first time since 2019.

Venezuelan winger Darwin Machís made 25 appearances during the season with Granada, leaving four goals and three assists.

The permanence of Machís in the club is uncertain. The red wine could consider staying in the Granada since he still has one year left on his contract.
