Waldgeist won the Arc de Triomphe

The five-year-old horse Waldgeist, a son of the accredited stallion Galileo in Waldlerche, by Monsun, surprised the Enable champion in the Arc de Triomphe, the most emblematic race of the French turf, held at the Racecourse of Longchamp, Paris, at a distance of 2.400 meters, on the grass and prize of 5 million Euros.

In this way, led by Pierre Charles Boudot, the attempt was defeated by the champion Enable who was looking for her third victory in the test, a feat never accomplished since it was created in 1920 and occupied the second position. Third came Sottsass. Fourth Japan finished and closed the Magical board.

Omaha Beach triumphed

In an exceptional comeback, Omaha Beach defeated the speedy Shancelot at the Santa Anita Sprint Championship, and was ready for their participation in the Breeder's Cup.

With the driving of Mike Smith, he chased Shancelot with Emisael Jaramillo, to move him inside with a few meters left for the sentence and score the victory.
