A series of rides in the history of turf makes us think about the risk to the life of the riders, given the controversial and dangerous fall of the rider Jefferson Díaz from the Aventador horse last Saturday in La Rinconada. He must call upon the good sense of some whips who, in their desire to achieve victory, endanger the lives of colleagues in a totally unsportsmanlike behavior, driven by the heat of the competition.

This unsportsmanlike attitude brings to mind the cases of Nerio Enrique Atencio, when he grabs the leg of his colleague Luis Francisco Martín a few meters from the finish to prevent him from displacing him, he crossed the goal at the top of the scoreboard. Atencio arrived in the first place, but was distanced to second place and forced to comply with a sanction, but history repeated itself with something similar in the Classic Republic of Venezuela in 1978, when he relentlessly harassed Torrejón, ridden by Balsamino Moreira, in a controversial performance.

Another recent embarrassing case was carried out by Robert Capriles, in November 2020, on the back of Gorilla Speed, he tried to grab the bridles of the Northern Black specimen in the final 100 meters, to the detriment of the rider Frank Villalobos, as seen in the video from the competition.
