The conflict between coach Bob Baffert, and the Churchill Downs authorities over the alleged application of a prohibited drug to the Kentucky Derby-winning horse Medina Spirit is going for a good time.
Baffert filed a lawsuit in Kentucky to defend that the result of the tests applied to the winner of the so-called Race of the Roses did not break the established rules and did not influence the result.
Kentucky authorities suspended the outstanding coach for two years and Medina Spirit, could be disqualified from the famous race.
The steed, who finished third in the Preakness Stakes, resumed training at Santa Anita Park and his next performance may be in the Haskell Stakes. It is not the first time that Baffert has been involved in this type of problem with his pupils.
