Just a few months after finishing his season with Magallanes in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), Yadier Molina will assume the reins of the Puerto Rican team in the World Classic.
The announcement was made this Thursday, as reported in The majors.
The mask will make his retirement as a professional baseball player at the end of the 2022 campaign and then he will have a few quite busy months. First in the winter baseball of Venezuela and then in the highest event of the ball.
According to MLB, Yadier Molina will join the new general manager of Puerto Rico, José Solá, to try to give the Puerto Ricans their first world title.
The popular "Yadi", who says goodbye to the Big Show after 19 seasons, had been part of the Puerto Rico team in all previous editions of the Classic.
He was 23 years old when that story began in 2006 and in that journey his elegant defense allowed him to be on the all-star team twice.
