Martín Pérez will be in charge this Saturday of opening the quarterfinal match against the United States in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
The pitcher comes from opening the first match of the tournament against the Dominican Republic.
In which he worked for 3.1 innings, striking out four, allowing one run and three hits.
Pérez assured that the game against the United States is important and that the team is focused as in the first phase.
"This is going to be a very important game for us, we continue as in the first round and we continue with the same focus (...) You have to have the same approach with the pitchers and attack the batters," he said.
"It will be an interesting game for us, there is no tomorrow, we have to come with everything and give our best."

The pitcher indicated that the entire team is in tune and prepared to give their best in the match.
"Trusting in God and that everyone contributes what they have to contribute to take us the victory," said Martínez.
"I'm going to go out and do my job, attack hitters, locate my pitches where I want them and be on the same page with Salvador, we have a good plan with him."
Lastly, the Texas Rangers pitcher told how the support of the Venezuelans has been in this Classic.
But also what is experienced from the LoanDepot Park stadium in Miami on each day.
"The support here has been vital for everyone, we feel proud that they are here representing our country with us (...) Venezuelans give us something extra when we hear the Venezuelan fans supporting us."
"The atmosphere in the stadium has been exceptional, we are all on the same page, which is why today is a great day for us," he concluded.
