With 5.0 blank innings Williams Pérez led the Cardenales de Lara 8-3 victory over the Leones del Caracas, this Sunday at the beginning of the Round Robin.
The right-hander allowed the hairy slugger just two hits, walked just one walk and struck out three to come out with an immaculate ERA and ultimately score the win.
And just when he completed his exit, in the bottom of the fifth, the Lara offensive managed to decipher the starter José Mujica and sentenced the board.
William Contreras drove in first with a double and started the shower. Cardenales led 5-0, combining singles by Juniel Querecuto, Jermaine Palacios and Ildemaro Vargas.

Leones could barely respond with two runs in the seventh inning with hits from Alexander Palma and César Varela. But immediately there was a response and the Lara extended their lead to 8-2 with singles by Yordanys Linares and Jecksson Flores.
Aldrem Corredor added a hairline to the capital's account in the eighth, but could not avoid the setback.
Mujica suffered the loss by allowing five runs in 4.0 innings after which he dropped his ERA at 11.25.
