Marlins reacted to beat Nationals

Three Nationals relievers allowed extra-base hits in the seventh inning, and Washington's 11-game win streak against the Miami Marlins came to an end with a 5-3 loss Sunday that tightened the race for the NL wild cards. .

Hunter Strickland and Wander Suero allowed two runs each in the seventh, and Tanner Rainey allowed an RBI triple off Starlin Castro, sending the Marlins going 3-1 against and going up 5-3.

Washington dawned at the top of the wildcard table, one game ahead of the Brewers and four over the Cubs.

The bullpen collapse came before the Nationals' favorite prey. Miami avoided a three-game sweep and closed 4-15 against Washington this year.
