Marineros de Carabobo extended their streak of consecutive victories by beating Delfines de La Guaira with a final score of 11 lines by 4, to culminate the second week of the championship with four wins in a row and culminating in playing over .500.
The crew opened the scoring in the second episode with a 4-run rally thanks to productive hits from Humberto García and Osman Marval, however, Delfines would take advantage of a pothole from starter Luis Ojeda in the fourth episode to match the actions with a producer hit from Rene Reyes.
In the fifth chapter the patience of the sailor bats paid off with a couple of walks with bases loaded to take the lead again.
However, the offensive production would not stop, after, in the seventh period, Engelb Vielma hit a solid home run to left field with one on board to extend the lead. Subsequently, a hit by Humberto García and consecutive doubles by Durán and Solorzano would take the score to 11 lines.
Delfines would react in the bottom of the eighth with a couple of runs against the product of consecutive hits. It would not happen to majors before the good reaction of pitcher Sergio Velis that contained the Guaireña threat.
The winner of the match was the experienced Dannys Hernández (1-0) and the loser was Jonathan Bruzual (0-1).
Marineros will return to action this Tuesday against Samanes at the José Bernardo Pérez stadium in Valencia at 6:00 pm.
