Caciques completed their first sweep

Wilfredo Boscan excelled on the mound and Gersel Pitre led the offense with four trailers

District Chiefs completed the sweep in the inaugural series to be imposed this Friday 5-3 to the Marineros de Carabobo at the José Bernardo Pérez in Valencia.

Wilfredo Boscán (1-0) had a solid job on the mound keeping the shipping bats at bay. The Marabino right-hander pitched 5.0 innings of just two hits, walked one and struck out three.

Gersel Pitre led the indigenous offense by going 3-2 with two runs scored, a triple, a home run and four RBIs. The Caciques captain has pushed five of the team's seven lines at the start of the season.

For his part, Robinson Cabrera went 5-3 with runs scored and has an average of .556 (9-5).

Mariners gave up three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. But they couldn't avoid the sweep.

Carlos Suniaga shone in his 2.0 inning relief with a walk and two strikeouts. Luis Cedeño scored his second save of the season by withdrawing the ninth blank.

Caciques closes his first successful tour, showing good pitching and timely hitting, a key element in the game.

In fact, the starters from the capital have not allowed runs in 10.0 innings and have a WHIP of 0.80.

This weekend they begin a series of two games against the current champions Senadores de Caracas.
