Venezuelan catcher Juan Apodaca announced the end of his career as an active baseball player, reported sports journalist Víctor Boccone on Twitter.
According to Boccone, Apodaca will begin a new stage in the field of baseball, as bench coach for the Oklahoma City Dodgers, the AAA affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Venezuelan will be the right hand of Travis Barbary in the 2022 season, added the also director of sports media.
In 16 seasons, in the Minor League system and summer and winter leagues, Juan Apodaca left a lifetime average of .269 with 100 home runs and 604 RBIs. This 2022 will begin a new stage as a technician in the subsidiaries of #Dodgers

Apocada, 35, will be remembered for being an excellent defensive receiver. In the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), the man from Caracas wore the uniforms of the Leones del Caracas, Águilas del Zulia, Navegantes del Magallanes and Tiburones de La Guaira.
