The Venezuelan Germán Márquez, of the Colorado Rockies, added his third victory of the month after handcuffing the powerful offense of the Minnesota Twins.
In seven and two-thirds innings of work, Márquez barely allowed three hits, struck out two rivals and, despite the high number of walks (5), did not allow runs.
The Venezuelan starter made a total of 101 pitches, 63 of them located in strike, after facing 29 batters.
After a rough start to the season, the San Felix native dropped his record to 4-5.
Thanks to Germán Márquez and Daniel Bard, who scored his 15th save, the Colorado Rockies added their 1st victory of the season by way of shutout (0-31).
