Erick Leal was the starter in the third game of the Final of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League between Leones del Caracas and Tiburones de La Guaira.
The pitcher had a superb outing and handcuffed the long-haired sluggers in a space of 6.0 innings.
In those that only allowed three hits, he awarded two walks and struck out four opposing batters.
In post-match statements to the press of the salty team, Leal said he was happy with the result of his game against the capital.

"I am a type of pitcher who sometimes gets carried away by the euphoria of the moment, but today I decided that I had to be calm, focused because this outing was very important for the team," he said.
"I stayed cool and hit the pitches I wanted and that was successful."
The pitcher who was second in the voting for the LVBP pitcher of the year, assured that he continues to be surprised by what has been done in the matches.
"Coming off 3-0 and striking out that magnitude despite having done it all season is still amazing."
"My respects for the Leones hitters are all tremendous, but in this game things happened differently," Leal concluded.
