The Venezuelan Eduardo Escobar, versatile player of the New York Mets, hit his 13th home run of the 2022 Major League Baseball (MLB) campaign this Friday night.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Venezuelan infielder deciphered a broken delivery by Washington Nationals starter Josiah Gray to get the ball out to left field.
According to Baseball Savant, the Venezuelan connection, with a running mate, posted an exit speed of 101.7 miles per hour and traveled 410 feet at Citi Field.

The pride of La Pica, Aragua state, shot their first home run since July 26.
Later, Eduardo Escobar drove in his third run of the engagement with a sacrifice fly to reach 47 RBIs in the harvest.

The other Venezuelan who stood out in this match was Ildemaro Vargas when he connected two doubles to reach six and scored a hairline (14).
For his part, Pete Alonso tipped the scales by hitting his 32nd home run of the campaign.

With this victory (7 to 3), the Mets (85-48) achieved their third victory in a row in order to maintain the distance of three games over the Atlanta Braves in the fight for the Eastern Division of the National League.
