Ronald Acuña Jr. reacted to the statements offered by the general manager of the Sharks of La Guaira, César Collins, to the podcast the infield of the Union Radio Circuit.
Acuña Jr. replied that the coastal organization can leave him, because "I'm not going to play anyway."
On several occasions, the native of La Sabana expressed his desire to wear the uniform of the Cardinals of Lara in Venezuela.
In his conversation with the infield, Collins revealed that he hopes to reach an agreement with the Venezuelan outfielder, when he visits him in Atlanta during the month of August.
"If he (Acuña Jr.) is encouraged, he will be well received by the entire squad," said the young manager.
Despite the intention to retain him, the also president of the Major League of Professional Baseball (LMBP) does not rule out transferring Acuña Jr.
"We remain open and when Lara is willing to negotiate the players we need, the move will be made," Collins said.
Collins is leading the renewal of a franchise that seeks to end a drought of more than three decades without titles.
