Andrés Giménez finished bat champion in Arizona

Andres Gimenez, Venezuelan shortstop, is the batting champion of the Arizon Fall League

Giménez, considered the number 3 prospect of the New York Mets by MLB Pipelines, he hit .371 in 18 games with the Scottsdale Scorpions.

In 70 at-bats, he hit five doubles, two doubles and two home runs while driving in 15 runs.

"It feels great and I'm very excited," said Giménez, 21.

Last year, Gimenez hit .125 in 48 at-bats in 19 games in the Arizona Fall League.

During the 2019 regular season, he hit .250 with a .309 on-base percentage and .387 slugging percentage in 117 games in the Binghamton A.A., where he also hit nine home runs and produced 37 runs.

Until now, Mets have not decided if Giménez will start the 2020 season in AA or in the Syracuse Chiefs, branch office AAA.
